Mark Smith

Partner

Mark joined the firm in February 2007 and became a Partner in July 2012. His primary roles include client advice and portfolio management, investment research, being a member of the investment committee, and ensuring the business runs smoothly and compliantly day-to-day.

Mark was instrumental in developing the core investment strategy and independent research process, which results in client portfolios being truly multi-asset. One interest is finding strategies and smaller funds that the firm can use before peers.

From a client perspective, Mark is successfully building his own client base of senior individuals from the fund management industry, other private HNW individuals, and select Charities.

Mark was Chairman of the Yorkshire Investment Club for ten years, an initiative he and Andrews Gwynne founded in December 2007.

His active and competitive nature helped him achieve a BSc (Hons) in Sports Studies at University. However, Mark’s industry qualifications include the CII Diploma in Financial Planning, CII AFPC papers G10 Taxation & Trusts / G20 Personal Investment Planning, the CFA Investment Management Certificate, plus more recently the CISI Certificate in Investment Operations.

Away from the office Mark enjoys shopping for designer shirts, an addiction started when he got his first payslip!  More importantly, he is trying to be a good dad to his young son. Mark enjoys keeping fit, increasingly on his bikes.
