Douglas has spent more than 40 years advising private clients (35 of them with Andrews Gwynne) and has words of wisdom for every client scenario! A ‘people’ person through and through, Douglas believes in an open, honest yet sensitive approach to life and his many trusted relationships with clients reflect this.

Douglas is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute, Chartered Wealth Manager and holds the Investment Management Certificate (CFA Society of UK). He is also an Affiliate of the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners.

Outside the office Douglas is often to be found in his garden (he is married to a keen gardener!) but has many other interests including organising fell running, sailing, steam railway preservation (he once qualified as a railway guard) and takes pleasure from maintaining tradition reflected in his membership of his local agricultural society and a society dedicated to the preservation of roadside milestones.

His literary interest are varied too, suffice it to say that he is a member of both the Arthur Ransome and Dorothy Sayers societies.
